    So I was doing some research for one of my letters and some calculations to figure out what 1890s money was worth in today's money. The result breaks down as follows:

    £1 (1890s) ~ $126.98US (modern)
    Also, remember that 1 pound sterling = 20 shillings = 240 pence, and thus 1 pence (1890s) ~ $0.52US (modern)

    For US dollars:

    $1US (1890s) ~ $25.98US (modern)
