Picking up the Pieces

"I bet you a dollar she used to be a cheerleader," Madison sighed. "You know. A couple years ago."

"God..." David said, rolling his eyes, "I bet she's like... some kind of scam artist or something. Like she's gonna steal all of his bank info and then dissapear. I mean, she doesn't even have a real job or anything. Maybe I should see if I can dig anything up on her."

"Do you think...? Wouldn't she go after someone, you know, rich?" Madison's eyes widened. "Maybe I'm just on edge from everything, but could she be some kind of... supernatural... something?"

"I condsidered it."

David leaned back against the wall, pondering.

"When you disapeared, I thought maybe it had something to do with her. But so far she seems like a normal... well, like a person, at least. But then, I guess that doesn't mean a whole lot. At the very least it seems like she didn't have anything to do with what happened to you. Maybe we should like... stake her or something. Just to be sure."

Madison managed a half-smile. "That might be overkill... What about trying some salt, or iron, or holy water first?"

David smirked.

"Well, I guess if you wanna get all scientific about it. I doubt salt will do anything, though. That damn casserole had enough salt that I could smell it. I didn't even think salt HAD a smell."
