For the first time in weeks, Dorien wasn't tired. With his father out of the hospital, he'd gotten home at a reasonable hour from his parent's house and had managed to be asleep by eleven, which meant that the next morning he was awake, dressed, and even shaved. His sleep had even been steady and restful, free from the strange dreams of the day before. He checked the icebox and found some leftover spinach turnovers for breakfast, and he had just taken a bite of one when there was a knock on the door.
Dorien glanced at the apartment's lone clock as he opened the door, not bothering to check the peephole. In his experience, no one who meant trouble ever visited before noon.
"You're early." He said to the Shadr Kai girl... woman... whatever... that stood on the doorstep, "Good job."
