Back in the Saddle Empty Back in the Saddle

    Post by Queenofinsanity6 17/05/10, 12:47 am

It was not often that Beatriz actually brought in a super to be a recruit, but she was admittedly very fond of Hot Addiction, being indeed a man much after her own heart. And he was powerful, despite his manner.
So she'd been very unhappy when the Lady locked him up. He was her only recruit in years, her previous one having gotten killed off in a rather unpleasant altercation with a vigilante. She was very excited to be getting him back now. She'd already contacted the Lady and gotten permission to reinstate him as a villain, considering his good work in helping clear out the basement.
Needless to say, she summoned him as soon as the Oracle was done with him. She wanted a full briefing on what had gone down, since she'd stuck his neck out for him with that random mundane.

Leaving the "meeting" with Oracle with a bit of a headache, and a bit more confusion, Enrique decided the wisest thing to do would be to see his boss and hope she could make heads or tails of the situation; she always seemed to be much better at that than he.

As he approached her office, however, he decided that perhaps this would not be the ideal reunion with his supervisor and compatriot; for some reason, he could remember very little of the last several hours, and suspected that this would not please her. Nevertheless, he put on his usual demeanor--somewhere between sly, foppish, and ambitious--and strode through the door of her office with his customary half-grin.

"Afternoon, boss lady! It's been awhile! What you would ask of ze Hot Addiction?"

Beatriz smiled widely at Enrique as he walked in the door. "Welcome back. I see you've recovered your gear. I want a full report on what happened down in that basement. Specifically today, but if you found anything noteworthy while locked up, then by all means, include it. And why on earth did Oracle want to see you?"

"Hokay so, ze Hot Addiction tells you what he knows.

Like you know, I was down in ze basement for ze R&R the last few months.

Mostly I spend my days with ze resting, relaxing, and ze quiet times, but a few people make with ze interruptions. They have been dealt with now.

Anyhow, boss, like I say earlier, been down there little while. But when ze door opened up I decided it was time to leave and have some fun, ja? So I went and got my suit, and some good food, and while I was eating Giggles and her friends found me, so I went to help zem!

We cleared up some rooms, killed some robots, and I found my new employee. I have ze plans for heem, many plans, jes. Ve vill revolutionize ze world of villinay!

But where was I? Right, we were clearing ze pbasement, and...well, eet gets a leetle fuzzy somewhere around zere, and ze next thing I remember clearly I was in ze Oracle's office, and zen I came here!"

*out of character: it's around here I'd be making that memory recovery check*

Beatriz listened with a smile. She had to admire his ability to find the good in being randomly imprisoned for months. And it was definitely ideal that she'd managed to finagle the others into giving this job to the new recruits. Having the Giggler around doing things was quite useful, even if she was working with her crazy mother.
"It gets fuzzy? Try to remember, it sounds like the Oracle mucked with your brain. It must be important." She glanced around the room quickly, checking to make sure her windows and doors were all shut, closing them into her office which was boths secure and soundproof. "Anything at all?

*out of character: the check succeeded earlier with a roll in the high 30s, so going on that*

*Enrique sits down on the floor and goes into several minutes of quiet, angry meditation. Without warning, he hops lightly to his feet and resumes conversation*

"Ja, of course I remember for you, boss lady! After ve cleared most of ze basement, we went down some stairs dat a pair o' armored guards were guarding (although if you ask ze Hot Addiction, zey did not do so good), and we found a couple of doors.

Ze door we went in was ze Oracle's lab, and eet vas full of some scary stuffs; lots of prisoners, mostly our own hired goons, and ze crazy beetch was experimenting on zem! Lots of experiments, with ze poisons and ze mind powers, and mixing them, and studying ze hurting of ze people--which is silly if you asks me; ze fists always work just fine for zat.

Oh, and she had another room, and ze other room had tiny copy of city, and of base, and of heroes' base, and ze tiny copies of all ze people dat would be in them. After we found zis, she figured out we were in 'er lab, and made Giggles take us out.

We went to see her for ze mind wiping, but before she started ze Agent fellow made with the disappearing, and it made her angry. Then she poofed me!

Anyhow, I do good for you boss lady! I memorized lots of ze stuff on her computer! I probly cannot understand most of it, but I can copy it for you, ja? Gives me ze paper and I vill make with ze copying!"

*out of character again: yes, I realize his Russian accent is inconsistent. It's supposed to be that way.*

Beatriz studied her eccentric recruit as he meditated. Looking at him closely, she could see scars that hadn't been there before, injuries he most likely didn't get while fighting. A cold fury bloomed in her, and she would most certainly have words with the Lady about the treatment of her man.
She schooled her face back into a smile when he opened his eyes. Her smile felt much more natural upon hearing what he had learned. This was it, right here. This was the information she'd been waiting for. DA was Duani's man, she'd have the information by now also. "Fists do not hurt a man nearly as well as invading his mind." She told him sadly.
She quickly handed Enrique a thick pad of paper and a pen. "You've done very good work here."
She then settled back to see what the Oracle had in her files.

*after over half an hour of furious scribbling--quite the feat given his natural quickness--Enrique finally sets down the pen, having completed his notes*

"Zis is everything you vill need, ja boss?

Should be much useful for using on ze crazy beetch, I think.

Now, if you are not minding, I vill go and get some rest. Many plans to make with ze new Public Relator type person. And money. Jes, I vill need much money. Must make wid ze planning..."

Beatriz smiled at him, taking the notes with an almost predatory grin.
"You've done beautifully. Your pay will of course be reinstated, and you still have your same rooms here in headquarters. I've taken the liberty of having your things moved back in for you. It should all be ready by now."
Her smile softened into something more genuine. "It really is nice to have you back, Enrique. I'd suggest running by medical sometime soon, also. I want the docs to take a good look at you and fix up anything that needs fixing. It looks like they put you through the wringer down there."

"No, zey had no wringers; and washers and dryers are not as effective for ze tortures, jes?

But ja, I vill I run by for ze checkups.

Try not to have too much fun with ze informations without me, ja? You are looking like ze bear who got into ze vodka cabinet."

Beatriz grinned lopsidedly. "I suppose so." She replied, amused. She was glad to see that he was bouncing back quite nicely. Being imprisoned down there must have been quite an ordeal. The torture rooms definitely weren't just for show. And the Lady had a stick up her bum regarding Beatriz for some time, so she may have even used the excuse to try and get some info on his boss.
She glanced down at the precious information in her hands. "I'll try and read through all of this, and I'll want to see you back, say two days from now, at the same time of day. I won't get started actually doing things with the information until we've had a chance to chat."
