"Its sounding like its picking up, which...I don't really know what to do with that. I try to avoid it as much as I can, but you kids seem to be catching a lot of trouble. If it gets worse, I worry its going to get a lot worse."

"Can you think of any reason why it would be getting worse now? Or ... is it something to do with us? Is it our fault somehow?" That was sort of a worrying thought.

Regina put down her knife as she looked up, making sure to meet Madison's gaze.

"Sweetie, no, I'm sure its nothing to do with you. Sometimes these things just happen. When it rains, it pours, that sort of thing. We just have to weather it is all."

Madison looked over at her uncertainly. "Okay...I'll take your word for it. So... this sort of thing has happened before?"

For the first time in the conversation, Regina looked uncomfortable.

"There's been...difficulties. Back before Noah was born, there was some trouble with my father's people. Power struggles, that sort of thing. We've occasionally had troubles with vampires from Medford. Nothing stays quiet, I guess, but it tends to sort out."

"This stuff is all more different than that. Not that vampires and werewolves aren't 'different', I mean, but this is like something new and crazy each week, practically." And some of it they had probably stuck their noses into more than they should have, but she wasn't about to say that part. "I hope it'll calm down soon and things will go back to normal."
