Furthering Madison's education

"Well that's good. I mean, that he's not being pushy." She decided not to mention the rumors she'd heard that it was only because she was the coach's daughter and he didn't want to catch trouble. Maddy had probably heard them too, and anyway they were probably bullshit. "At least if you do wanna, you know he probably has some clue what he's doing..." She paused. "Has anyone, like, given you the talk?" She wasn't sure how old Madison had been when her mother died, but it was... a little terrifying... to think about Coach Emory giving her any kind of romantic advice.

Madison became absorbed in picking at the pink nail polish that was flaking off her thumb. "No... not really, no. I know stuff from movies, books, classes, uh, and from the internet, some, and obviously people talk about it, but... no actual 'talk', no. I mean, other than 'don't do it.'" She glanced over warily at Lil. "I know how it's supposed to work, but like... there seem like a lot of things that could go wrong, and I have no idea what to do! But he does, and... what if I do it wrong or something?"

"Well, like... I don't have a lot of experience with this stuff, but like, the main thing, other than don't do shit you aren't sure you wanna do, is use protection. Hopefully Noah knows all this crap, but like... probably getting knocked up is really the worst thing that can go wrong, right? There's a clinic in town where you can get the pill, and they can't tell your parents about it, but even with the pill you have to be on it for a month before it works. And like, you should probably still use condoms anyway, because shit man - who even knows with werewolves?"

Madison still looked nervous, but also intrigued. "So I could get on the pill now and then in a month it would be safe? Or at least safer, right? I know nothing's like 100% perfect, but with that and a condom it would be pretty reliable, I think? That was one of the main things I was worried about, but I didn't know if I talked to our doctor if he would tell my dad or what. My dad finding out would be like... the second worst thing," she said, eyes wide. "Other than werewolf stuff. I don't even know what could go wrong with that. Noah's mom tried to talk to me a bit about it, and she made it sound like things were gonna go crazy for him in the next while, and all about how I'd have to decide if I could handle that or if I could be there for him and whatever. I don't know what it all means, though - it was just kind of frightening."

She hesitated for a second. "On the other hand, Noah's mom is okay with him having girls over in his room, so if we need someplace private, we can always go there. I mean, we have, a few times, but... if we needed extra privacy. Better than his truck, anyway."

Lil nodded along as Maddy talked about getting on the pill - that all made sense to her at least. The clinic people might be able to give her more better advice too, about diseases and stuff. 'Cause like... Noah had been around, and maybe it was okay because he was a werewolf, but maybe not? But if they used condoms then maybe that would be okay too.

"Yeah, like, at least you have a place to go. Man I guess you have the truck bed, heh, but it's cold."
She shook her head. "Man, the werewolf stuff - it is total balls that like, they won't even fucking tell *him* what to expect. That would make it a little less fucking scary, wouldn't it? Or maybe they want it to be scary, who knows? It's dumb. I've tried looking up some stuff but I don't know what's bullshit and what isn't."

"Yeah, I don't know what they're thinking - like, if there's some actually good reason for them not to tell him, or if it's some kind of thing where they're trying to shelter him, or what. Noah doesn't really talk about it much, and the stuff his mother told me was pretty vague too. I'm worried about whether it'll change things. With us, I mean. Obviously things will change one way or another, but... I just hope it doesn't change us being together. Because that's pretty much the best thing that's ever happened to me," she added with a shy smile. "Um... have you had a boyfriend before?"

Lil rolled her eyes at that, not bothering to answer.

"Well, I never did before Noah, not really," Madison admitted. "Not that counted, anyway. Going out to the movies with a bunch of other people along too, holding hands, dancing together at school dances, that's about it. This feels different."

"Yeah, everyone's hooking up these days, I guess." Addie'd never had a real boyfriend before that she knew of, either. Lil shrugged.

"Yeah... Anyone you're interested in?" Madison asked.

"What, at school?" she scowled. "Pretty much any interest I might have in any of the guys there disappears the instant they open their mouths." Even if they were nice to her, it was usually because they wanted something, or were trying to get her to fall for some stupid prank.

"That's... fair," Madison agreed, thinking particularly of her brother. She was still a bit amazed that Addie had agreed to go out with him. "What about like... older guys, even celebrities or anything - who do you think is cute? Apart from David Bowie," she grinned, nodding in the direction of the movie.

"I dunno..."  It was probably unfair to consider that Maddy might have ulterior motives for asking, but the suspicious instinct was still there to be squashed.  "Like... some of the guys from MCR are pretty hot. Colin Morgan can be kinda hot, when he;s not being a total doofus.  That one episode of doctor who though - wow.  If we're going older  - Benedict Cumberbatch?  Yes please!   And like...  Chris Hemsworth, even though he's blonde, because I'm fucking human.  John Barrowman and David Tennant - preferable together, thanks."

Madison only knew who a few of those people were. "Yeah, Chris Hemsworth is totally droolworthy," she agreed. "And of course Gerard Way." She was pretty sure some of the other guys were from shows David watched, but she didn't want to seem too ignorant in front of Lil. "Uh, David Tennant is Doctor Who, right? Or used to be?"

"Yeah he was ten - best of the new lot, though I think Addie and David both liked nine - that was Eccleston. He was a good doctor, mind, but Tennant was way hotter." She paused. "Oh, he was in the Harry Potter movies too, he played Barty Crouch Junior in Goblet of Fire! And he played a campy vampire in Fright Night." She wasn't sure about Fright Night, but everyone had seen the Harry Potter movies right? Still, better safe than sorry - she whipped out her phone. There were worse things to do than google hot guys.

Madison had seen the Harry Potter movies, but she was having a hard time remembering who the heck Barty Crouch Junior was. She looked at Lil's phone as she scrolled through images of the various guys she had mentioned. Aside from Chris Hemsworth, and maybe this John Barrowman guy, it seemed like she preferred more skinny, kinda nerdy-looking men. It wasn't entirely Madison's thing, but she could agree that some of the pictures Lil singled out were indeed pretty sweet. "Is this like... a whole website just devoted to pictures of these guys?" she asked eventually, when they seemed to keep going forever and ever.

Lil looked up at her, eyes wide.

"Wait - you don't know about tumblr?"

"What's that?" Some internet thing, obviously, but other than that... Madison shook her head.

"Okay, so, like, tumblr is the fucking best. It has all the coolest stuff about.. everything. People post all sorts of stuff and you can follow them and ask them silly things and look for things that are tagged with stuff you like. Like hot guys! Or whatever. Here - you can see all the stuff that is tagged fdor, like, um...; cheerleading, say... and then you can just look at the tag and share the things that are cool, and of you like stuff that someone is posting you can follow them, and if you post cool shit then people will follow you too... And you can find out about all sorts of other neat shit from what everyone else is doing!"

"Cool!" Madison pulled out her own phone to look it up, and was soon absorbed in seeing what came up with some random searches, scrolling through the results. "Wow, there's a lot of different stuff here," she murmured, before her eyes widened and she hastily backpaged away from whatever she had just seen.

Lil resisted the image not to smirk at that. "Yeah... these is stuff you can do to filter out things you *don't* want to see, too."

"Oh, okay," Madison said slowly. "Good to know... Because, um, hypothetically, there's like... porn and stuff on there?"

"Oh yeah. Tons. all kinds of it. But you probably won't run into it if you don't want." Lil kept a separate tumblr for that sort of thing, but she wasn't about to show Maddy *that*.

Madison was considering whether she did or didn't want to run into that sort of thing in her searching when Mr. Court stuck his head into the living room. "Hey girls, I don't want to interrupt your fun - just remember it's a school night tonight, okay?"

Madison blushed, fighting the urge to hastily hide her phone under a pillow or something, and instead just casually hitting the button to make the screen go black. Mr. Court was a lot younger than she'd expected - and a lot hotter.

Lil sighed. "Yes dad - we're just going to finish the movie okay?"

"That's fine." He nodded and looked like he might be abotu to say something else, but Lil interrupted him again.

"Oh, uh, this is my friend Madison. She's David's sister. Maddy, this is my dad."

Mr. Court smiled politely. "Nice to meet you Maddy. I'll let you two get back to your David Bowie."
