Pretenders is 1988! Britney Spears and Bloodhound Gang barely squeak in, as both are late 1999 releases ;p

    Well done though Very Happy

I'm Gonna Be was released and recorded in 1988, but most people consider it a nineties song since it wasn't poplular in America until the Benny and Joon soundtrack was released in 1993 Very Happy

    But yeah, technically you're right.

By the way, Ella, I love Penny's Song for Ronnie. the line "Dreams are easy to achieve if hope is all I'm hoping to be" kinda blew my mind a little. Very Happy

That song was one of the easiest to cast. It was just so damn perfect.

I set myself a challenge of soundtracking folks using only Sarah McLachlan's first three albums....i.e. before she got married and turned all happy and lame.

So.... voila! If you don't know the songs, you should check 'em out on Youtube. Most of the lyrics are here.

Ronnie: Mary, Shelter (atm: Vox, Sad Clown)
    Connie: Into the Fire
    Aimee: Fubling Towards Ecstasy
Bea: Drawn to the Rhythm, or Home
    Simon: Back Door Man, Elsewhere
    Chad: Ice
    Nils: Circles
    Chrys: Ben's Song

    Nils/Chad: Possession
    Aimee/Connie: Ice Cream

Okay, I'll leave that challenge to Josh. He's the Elvis guy. I only know "Jailhouse Rock", and that only works for Juanito.

Another good group song, alas it is a live recording, so not very well produced:

I just am getting into Oysterband, but I like them much - they are folk-rock type stuff.

    Johnny Cash Songs:

Bea - I Won't Back Down / Desperado (Yes it's a cover, but so were like half of his songs.)
Ronnie - That Lucky Old Sun / Bridge Over Troubled Water
Nils -Hurt / Sunday Morning Coming Down
Aimee - God's Gonna Cut You Down / Tennessee Flat-top Box
    Simon - ?
Connie - If You Could Read My Mind
Chad - A Legend In My Time
Chrys - Aint No Grave / Danny Boy

Aimee to Connie - I Walk The Line
Ronnie to Indigo - Ring of Fire
    Connie to Aimee - Woodcarver
    Nils to Chad - One
Chad to Nils - It Aint Me, Babe

Clicking on a song will link to its lyrics. I searched for an hour, but I couldn't find anything that looked even remotely like it fit Simon. Any Thoughts, Heather?
