12:34 P.M.
Aimee sipped her thai tea, staring blankly into space. As her mind wandered, her eyes started to water, but she quickly blinked back tears. She looked up to see Ronnie walked through the restaurant's doors and smiled over her drink. Aimee picked up her menu as her friend sat down, shaking out her umbrella before putting it away.
"Glad you could make it. I wasn't sure you'd get my message in time for lunch. Constance had to work, and I wanted a chance to talk to you. I'm worried about, well, everyone really, but Nils in particular. I know he's been having 'visions,' and I don't know what to make of anything right now. I just feel...lost."

Despite her obvious fatigue, Esperanza sat down with the gracefulness of a trained dancer, her long legs folding neatly into the booth. She sighed tiredly and set down her bag and umbrella, removing her bright red rain hat and letting her long hair cascade down her shoulders. Her face was tired, and her normally perfect features seemed somehow darker, sadder. Outside the water was coming down in sheets as the Texas cold front rolled through.
"I'm glad you called." she said after a long sigh. "I've been needing to talk to someone about all this, too. These 'visions' are really starting to worry me. I like Nils, Aimee. I like him a lot. But I'm worried he's been through too much lately. I'm worried we all have."

"I know. I haven't slept more than a few hours since...Tuesday. Constance has this, like, collage on the wall with all the 'evidence' we've gathered. I mean, I don't think Chrys...did...that...to herself. But all these things that Nils is seeing, or thinks he's seeing. I just don't know. I can't shake this feeling that the police glossed over everything."
Aimee paused in her tirade as the server came to take Ronnie's drink order. Brushing her hair back from her face, she sighed bleakly.
"Now I'm starting to sound paranoid. Is this all just us looking too much into...things?"

Ronnie looked up almost startled by the waitress, as lost as she was in her own thoughts and Aimee's words.
"Oh... uhhh.. coffee, please. Black. Lots of sugar." she said, and waited for her to smile politely and walk away before continuing.
"I know Chrys didn't do this. Too many things don't add up. But that doesn't mean we need to go prancing off after ghosts and goblins looking for an explaination. Someone did this to her. Someone real. Someone human. And I intend to find out who the hijo de puta is and bring him down. But for us to do that we need to focus on the facts and not get side tracked by supernatural gibberish."
She sighed and rubbed her forehead as the waitress brought her coffee. She stirred it listlessly and looked up at Aimee.
"I'm sorry... I'm... frustrated. I just want everything to be okay again." Tears began to well up in her brown eyes, but she quickly blinked them away, "I want my friend back."

"I know. I keep expecting her to call, or just come over, and there's just this hole where Chrys should be."
Aimee chewed her lip, her blue eyes locking with Ronnie's before tears started streaming down her cheeks. She hastily reached for her napkin, blotting her face and coughing to cover the sob she managed to choke down.
"I just want to hit something, or someone. Whoever did this is going to pay, but I don't know how to help. Simon is checking her computer, Connie is researching...things," Aimee waved her hand vaguely for emphasis, "and Nils is...doing whatever he's doing. He's trying at least. I feel like I'm useless, just sitting while whoever hurt Chrys gets further away."
Aimee slammed her hand down on the table, tossing the napkin down violently. Growling, she continued.
"How the fuck do the cops just say 'nope, goth suicide' and think that's all they need to know? They were there for, what, 2 hours? This is bullshit, and we're trying to pull the Scooby gang here and..."
Pausing as she noticed the stares of nearby patrons, Aimee glared back but quieted, sinking back into her chair languidly.
"Sorry, I...like I said...I'm just...tired."

Ronnie ignored the looks from neighboring tables and reached gently across the table lightly grasping Aime's hand.
"Hey... it's ok." she said, looking into her eyes.
"We're all tired, and we're all angry. I know it hurts. But we all have each other. We'll get through this."
She sighed and rubbed Aime's hand reassuringly.
"And you're not useless. Not at all. You're our strength, Aime. We rely on you. Especially Connie. She needs you right now. We all do."

Aimee seemed to gather herself, turning her hand in Ronnie's to squeeze a moment before letting go.
She paused a few seconds, taking a deep breath before replying, "So, what do we do? I can be there for Connie, but Simon and Nils, I don't know what to do for them. Simon seems absorbed in his work, but that's not new. Nils...we've been friends for so long, all this new magic or whatever it is is, just, so much. Should we humor him, should we get help? What about Bea? How is she doing?"
by Tuck » Wed Feb 24, 2010 11:37 am
"Bea is... ok... I think. At least she seems to be holding up." Ronnie said, stirring her coffee yet again. She took a sip and grimaced slightly before reaching for the jar of sugar on the table and pouring some into the cup.
"I really need to talk to Nils. I think I may have hurt him. I... that wasn't what I wanted. I just don't know what to make of all this."
