A group of twenty or so dwelves and muls camps on the shore a few miles outside the borders of what He Who Sees has revealed as a neighboring land. They make no attempt to hide themselves, setting banners to announce their peaceful intentions. Out of respect (and perhaps some uncertainty) for their erstwhile neighbors, they do not cut the local plants for fuel, and keep their cooking fires small. The Beloved has said that people are here; they will wait.

Re: Emissary to the Grove Born
We look at these strange lifeforms curiously; the older ones have mentioned creatures not of the Mother but a force to treat carefully none the less. They were certainly....different; several matched the descriptions carved in Elder's bark the younger ones used to learn about this strange world.
Their heat sources were so small, why did they not use the plants and dead wood scattered on the ground? They were just plants, not Grove Born.
We edge towards their camp, curious.

Re: Emissary to the Grove Born
One of the dwelves, a sturdy female almost twice as wide in the hips as the shoulder, seems to be directing the action of the camp. When the Groveborn are spotted, she lays aside the cartographic maps she had been discussing with one of the muls, claps twice to summon a small entourage (mostly muls carrying large pots, a couple of banner-bearers, and a few guards), and walks to the edge of the camp. While her spoken language is as stream of sibilance, her words are also projected psionically to the newcomers in their native tongue.
"Greetings, friends! We of the H'riya give you greetings, in the name of the Brotherhood we give you greetings, in peace and in equality we give you greetings. I am Fh'raanq, joined to Mhari in willing partnership, emissary of the Free People. To whom do I have the honor of speaking?"

Re: Emissary to the Grove Born
We look at each other. This one had said (?) a lot of things, not all of them made sense. But we did need to make a response.
"We are the Grove Born, cruelly separated from Mother, we seek to survive until we find her again. Peace be between us and all will be well. What do you seek from us?"
