They floated upwards together, arms and legs entwined, flying high above the city. As they rose above the houses and hotels and restaurants, Ronnie couldn't help but smile. She had no idea how they would be able to improve on what this night had already brought, but she had no doubt in her mind that they would figure it out together.

-Epilogue-
The man in the suit took a bite of his sandwich and hummed along to the radio. He had it tuned to one of the dozen local country stations and Johnny Cash was currently rasping out "Man in Black" on the Ford Pinto's staticky shortwave.
He looked up at the hotel and sighed. So far it had been an uneventful night. He had no idea why he was here. After only three months with the organization they still didn't tell him anything. Go here. Watch these people. Report back. It would be a while yet before he was anything but a grunt.
Suddenly something on the balcony he'd been watching all evening caught his eye. There was someone... no, two someone's standing there talking. He reached for the binoculars on the seat next to him and looked back. By the time he found the right balcony the man standing on it was alone again; and from the looks of things quite naked.
Of course, he thought, it finally gets good and it's the guy I get to see with his pants off...
After a few more seconds the woman in the red dress came back outside and helped the man into his kilt.
He continued watching for a bit longer, but nothing seemed to be too out of the ordinary. Just a couple of young lovers having some fun. He was about to put the binoculars down again when something unexpected happened.
He quickly opened his cell phone and hit the speed Dial.
"HQ?" he said when a voice picked up on the other end, "This is Johnson. The targets have left the building."
There was a pause while the person on the other end spoke.
"That's a negative, sir... I really don't think I'll be able to follow."
Another short pause.
"Well because... because they're uhh... flying... sir."
"No sir..."
"Yes, well..."
"Alright, sir. Understood."
He hung up the phone and sighed as he turned on the car's engine and pulled out of the parking space in the hotel's parking lot. At least that would be the end of the stakeout for now. Time to report back. HQ seemed to take the news a lot better than he had thought they would.
They really don't pay me enough for this shit, he thought as he pulled out onto the street and into the late-night traffic.
