Aleyn doesn't have an opinion on narrowing down the list per se, and would be fine with Vedran's choices here, barring if we find out that someone who was left off the list sounds otherwise completely perfect personality-wise, in which case he would suggest we at least talk to them.

Maybe a good way to go from here would be to give us a little more information about some of these one, and then do threads/some form of RP with a couple and see how that goes?

Lord (Sir) Derenn Doumens, human, male, 50, veteran. socialite & NPC rights activist, 6.

Derenn went to Ahkas at a relatively young age, serving as aide-de-camp at the age of 16. He spent most of his wartime experience in the rear echelons and developed a particular sympathy for the Ahkasic people, though he remained supportive of the war effort. His husband, Farreth, was a fellow soldier from a patrician house. Their marriage was negotiated while still in service, with the ceremony taking place while on leave. Though they maintained an amicable marriage, their relationship grew distant in the post-war years. Derenn grew more interested in social causes in Highmark and Nerath, while Farreth utilized his wartime contacts to create a profitable trading network. A convoy of Farreth’s ships were attacked on a trading mission in Hiskaru; Farreth’s ship was lost with most of her crew, including her owner. Derenn has maintained a social presence upon which his family hopes to capitalize, seeking a new and hopefully advantageous marriage.

Derenn is upfront, though rarely brusque, with an easy honesty not always welcome in some of his social circles. While he upholds the social requirements of his position, Derenn has, of late, expressed something of a distaste for the excesses of his social strata. He has a genuine concern for others, and his charitable activities are diverse.

Mistress Avina Jireh, human, 26, female, assistant to the head of the Highmark resource council, 4.

Avina has been groomed for politics from a young age, though her affinity for it has proven to be stronger than her family anticipated. House Jireh has a reputation as subtle power brokers, and Avina is no exception. She put in time in several lower-level posts in both the Nerathi and Highmark governments, eventually securing her current position. As assistant to Kerrol Doraj, Avina has considerable influence over trade in Highmark. Rumor suggests Avina is on the short list for a position on the council itself soon.

Avina is intelligent, and she knows it. While not overtly rude, she detests idleness, ineptitude, or inefficiency and is perfectly willing to voice her opinions. She has a certain fascination with adventurers, given her position’s interaction with the guilds.

Mistress (Prelate) Ardith Aethelin, dragonborn, 24, female, cleric of Erathis, aide to Parliament, 2.

Ardith Aethelin had a somewhat unusual upbringing, the product of an adventuring mother and a bureaucrat father. Both of her parents are likewise clergy of Erathis, a paladin and cleric respectively. Like them, Ardith shares a dedication to the ideal of civilization and organization as the surest protection of the people. Ardith shares her House’s dedication to the ideology of Nerath as a whole, and seeks to utilize her position to extend governmental participation and protection as far as possible.

Ardith is unfailingly kind; she is a great listener and can often come off as shy in social settings. She does her best to make people feel at ease, something she’s practiced in bringing npc claims before the Highmark Council and the Parliament of Dragons. Ardith has a quiet confidence that has helped her immeasurably in dealing with the many trials of her position.

Master (Magister) Carac Varades, eladrin, 38, male, veteran, wizard, been in Ahkas, Hiskaru, 4.

Carac saw the very end of the Ahkasic War, an experience which impacted him greatly. The tail end of the war saw some of its greatest atrocities, and a sense of disquiet with the Nerathi people caused him to largely abandon the Confederacy at war’s end. Carac stayed in Ahkas, delving into psionics and stranger magics. Eventually, Carac moved on to Hiskaru, studying with several of the dragon lords. The untimely death of his mother in the Overlook disaster brought Carac back to Highmark, though, while he has remained in Nerath, much of his time has been spent in Mythragal pursuing unknown research. Under pressure from his family, Carac is participating in his first social season since his return.

Carac is quiet and unassuming. He has a tendency to distrust others to some extent. He’s often self-deprecating, attributing to others a lower opinion of himself than he does.

Mistress (Guildmistress) Fiora Camellia, elf, 23, female, on the Highmark council for the Diplomats Guild, 1. Quite young for her position, Fiora Camellia is respected (and somewhat feared) as for her obvious mastery of the Nerathi social scene. She managed to orchestrate her appointment to the Diplomat’s Guild council several months ago and, despite her relative inexperience, she has risen to the demands of her office admirably. She has something of a reputation for being as energetic in her personal life, however, leading her family to pressure her to seek a spouse, and soon.

Fiora is a consumate diplomat, charming and amiable, with a breadth of knowledge of current events in Nerath and beyond. She has a wide circle of social acquaintances and hangers-on, but few close friends and confidants.

Mistress Ricca Scrye, human, 24, female, professor at local mage academy, 0. Ricca Scrye is recently returned to Highmark from her studies in at the Aperto Lumine. She’s secured a teaching position at the Mennerstal Academy, a prestigious appointment for her age. By all appearances she is a rising star in thaumaturgical research, with a particular interest in the forces of the Change.

While Ricca devotes a nominally appropriate amount of time to the social expectations of her station and position, much of her time has been spent outside of the eight cities conducting research. Now that she’s in a more settled position, she understands certain concessions are expected of her, and the idea of marriage and family is something she is cautiously optimistic about.

Ricca is personable and remarkably down-to-earth. She’s becoming a good teacher and mentor, though she still displays a tendency towards the overly pedantic.

Mistress Ismene Factore, human, 26, female, dock manager, 1. Ismene Factore had something of a wild youth, developing a scandalous reputation in her late teens. Eventually, this led to a sort of in-city exile to her family’s waterfront holdings when she turned twenty. From that point, Ismene dedicated herself to improving her situation precisely where she was, going from a clerk, to managing a single warehouse, to overseeing the majority of House Factore’s waterborne shipping operations in Highmark. She recently managed to finance her own mercantile mission to Versimar, turning down advancements elsewhere in House Factore’s holdings to maintain her small personal fiefdom.

Ismene works hard and parties hard, though her off-time antics remain considerably less outrageous than in her earlier years. She’s efficient and professional in her work life, outgoing and somewhat pushy in her personal time. She’s noted for mingling with the lower classes, usually her employees, and its common knowledge she’s quite protective of anyone she considers herself responsible for.

Mistress (Lieutenant) Tauthe Muranu, tiefling, 22, female, lieutenant in the Muranu House guards, battle sorcerer, 3. Tauthe Muranu is both the beneficiary and the victim of her House’s military tradition, a warrior without a war. She’s been trained her entire life for service as a battlefield spellcaster, but her service with her House’s guards has been less than rewarding. She served during the tail end of the Northern Campaign, with her later terms largely spent protecting isolated holdings. Though she has repeatedly considered adventuring work, her family has a long-running distaste for the guilds that has so far kept her out of them. The last year has provided more work for her and her troops, but, as much as she relishes the chance to prove herself, she is worried what this increased need for military action means.

Tauthe has a commanding presence, highly suited to the battlefield but somewhat disconcerting in more relaxed settings. She strives to be very much the model officer and maintain a good example for her troops. She can be quite opinionated, firmly believing that any ideal dearly held is worth fighting for. As such, she often relishes a good argument, with no ill-will towards temporary opponents.

Mistress (Ser) Solan Limoges, eladrin, 25, female, paladin of Corellon, member of the Knights of Summer, 2. Solan Limoges is a rising star in the fey courts of Aethrennar, living the life of a Corellonian knight-errant. She has a reputation for dedication to the united efforts of the Knights of the Seasons, and a larger adherence to the cultural resurgence of a wider elduar identity. Relatedly, she is a staunch supporter of increased Aethrennari involvement in Nerathi politics, though her actual participation has been limited thus far.

Solan can be somewhat contradictory in her personality, an honorable and selfless bon vivant. While she has dedicated her life to the service of others, she has a reputation for thrill-seeking that has gotten her, and her adventuring companions, into trouble in the past.
